Pismo State Beach - Oceano Campground. Here a migratory bird habitat surrounds a fresh-water lagoon. There are trails, an 82 site developed campground with hot showers, a 9 hole golf course and restaurant. Reservations are available all years. Call 1-800-444-7275 to make a reservation. The Nature Center is a good place to learn more about the area, and the native garden identifies local plants. The Nature Center's winter hours are 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Summer hours, beginning June 1 and running through Labor Day, are 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. From the town of Pismo Beach, travel south 2 miles on Hwy. 1 to Pier Avenue, then go west 2 blocks. |
