Here
are some helpful guidelines to make your visit to the Museum a success If
there are any changes in your scheduled trip, please call the museum at

Before
leaving school
-
Introduce
students to the educational concepts to be presented in the program.

Instruct
the students and chaperones on the museum's behavior code (see below).
-
See
that students are properly dressed for coastal weather - a jacket and closed
shoes.

Have
a name tag for each student and chaperone.

Check
your estimated arrival time at the museum. If you are coming from the
Central Valley, please allow for road construction delays. Call if you
are running late.

Divide
students into groups of 15.
Upon
arrival
-
Reiterate
the behavior code before leaving the bus.
-
Meet
the docents at the museum entrance.
-
If
there is any special information you would like emphasized, please notify
one of the docents.

Listen
when a docent or someone else is talking.

Stay
on the trails.

Be
careful not to disturb things when you pick up rocks, plants and animals.

Replace
things you pick up in the approximately the same location.

Leave
everything as it was before you came.

Position
yourself among the students.

Be
sure that students under your supervision follow the behavior code.

Require
students that are having trouble following the behavior code to stand
quietly beside you until the group moves to the next destination.
